Gameday! Habs vs Rangers

Montreal Canadiens vs. New York Rangers

The Rangers have had a rough start to the season.  So rough in fact, they actually called everyone’s favorite player to hate, Sean Avery, up from the minors.   Surprise, surprise, he cleared waivers.  No one wanted him.  He will make his season debut tonight against the Habs.

I wonder who the fans at MSG are going to boo more tonight, Avery or Subban?

The Habs extended their winning streak to four games last night, beating the suprising Senators 2-1, despite being outplayed in the third period.  They have Price to thank for this win, who was a wall in the crease.  There is something about Price’s demeanor when he’s on, that you can just tell, he is going to be next to impossible to beat.  He had that look last night.

Who’s out?

Montreal

  • Andrei Markov (still recovering from knee surgery)
  • Scott Gomez
  • Ryan White
  • Chris Campoli

Keys to the Game

Is it a waste of my time to mention the Habs need to keep the pressure on for the full 60 minutes?  It would seem that Martin feels sitting on a 1 goal lead is a stellar approach for a team that is offensively gifted and has been defensively suspect for most of this season.

Will we see Peter Budaj in his second game tonight?  Hmmm….

My Prediction

Habs 5 – Rangers 3
