Montreal Canadiens vs. Boston Bruins
We’re number 12! We’re number 12! We’re number 12!
Who would have thought that this cheer would lighten the hearts of so many Habs fans? It does feel good though, doesn’t it?
Okay, so yes, the Habs sit in 12th place in the conference. The good news? They are also only 2 points out of 7th place and 3 out of 6th. Things are finally back on track.
The Habs have looked VERY strong in the last couple games. In particular, Erik Cole. Speed and a hard forecheck have proven to be, exactly what makes him an effective player for this team. Price has also been a standout. Although the defensive lapses have been fewer, there has still been times when an opposing forward has found himself all alone in front of the net. The difference? Price has stopped them, time and time again.
- Andrei Markov (still recovering from knee surgery)
- Ryan White
- Scott Gomez
- Chris Campoli
- Alexei Emelin (healthy scratch)
Keys to the Game
It would be easy for the Habs to ease up a bit tonight. They have earned it right? Wrong! They made their beds with that losing streak to start the year, and now they have to lie in it. In other words, KEEP THE PEDAL TO THE METAL, BOYS!!!
It has been a pleasure to watch the Plekanec and Gionta taking over the defensive responsibilities over the last couple games but I expect them to come out a little more offensively tonight. Plekanec has been quiet this season and is due for a breakout game.
