Montreal Canadiens vs. Boston Bruins
Has everyone calmed down a bit now? It was a windy night in Montreal as Habs fans breathed such an enormous, collective sigh of relief, people were forced to close their storm shutters. (I wonder if there is a single set of actual ‘storm shutters’ in the whole of Montreal?)
The players will not be given the opportunity to rest on their laurels, as they are in Boston tonight, facing a Bruins team that has struggled out of the gate with the ever-common ‘Stanley Cup Hangover’. Nothing like a heated rivalry game to break you out of one of those, huh?
Facing the Bruins for the first time since his career threatening injury at the hands of Zdeno Chara, Max Pacioretty is primed, ready and focused. Don’t expect to see Max trying to engage the giant defenseman, however. He will play his smashmouth style, of course, but Patches is looking to beat up the Bruins on the scoresheet, not with his fists. Leading the team with 9 points in 9 games, he looks primed to do just that.
- Andrei Markov (still recovering from knee surgery)
- Ryan White
- Scott Gomez
- Chris Campoli
- Alexei Emelin (healthy scratch)
Keys to the Game
Emotions will be running high in this one, and it will be up to the veterans to make sure the young guns are focused on putting the puck in the net. You can bet the Bruins will be trying to get them thinking otherwise.
