Montreal Canadiens vs. Buffalo Sabres
Finally! My passport is in, and I can make it to a Habs game in Buffalo! I’ll be the one up in the stands with the sign reading, “Pierre McGuire is a weird pervert.” Does this guy creep anyone else out?
This game will be televised on TSN (the national feed, not just eastern Canada).
About Last Night
The habs almost blew it last night at home against the Flames, and apparently didn’t heed my warnings about taking this Calgary team lightly. After going up 4-0 the Habs surrendered 4 straight sending the game to OT. Carey Price’s rest was cut short as Auld was the scapegoat to the comeback. PK Subban potted the overtime winner.
Tonight the Habs play a Buffalo team that, much like Calgary, have not performed to expectations. After winning the division last year, the Sabres find themselves in 11th place in the conference, and 10 points out of a playoff position.
That being said, the Habs CANNOT take this team lightly. This team has made a disturbing HABit of stepping up for the top tier teams while falling asleep while playing the lower ranked teams.
- Andrei Markov (Torn ACL-out indefinitely)
- Josh Jorges (out indefinitely)
- Alex Picard (healthy scratch)
- Benoit Pouliot (virus)
- Derek Roy
- Patrick Kaleta
Keys to the Game
It’s a shocking fact that any time you look at the TSN “Gameday” page, you will find either the Gomez line or the Plekanec line, in it’s entirety, in the “Who’s cold” section. It’s nice that one will offset the other, but imagine if both of these lines were “hot” at the same time? This team might actually score some goals!
