Gameday! Habs vs. Rangers

Montreal Canadiens vs. New York Rangers

They’re baaaaaack!  After a narrow 2-1 victory over the Rangers last week, the boys from NYC are at the Bell Centre trying to get some revenge.

The Habs sit 4 points back of the Rangers with a game in hand, so this game is HUGE.  A win tonight, coupled with a loss by Washington (who also have a game in hand) will put the Habs 2 points back of 5th place in the Eastern Conference.

Who’s out?

  • Andrei Markov (Torn ACL-out indefinitely)
  • Josh Jorges (out indefinitely)
  • Max Pacioretty (Game Time Decision – virus)
  • **Yannick Weber or Alex Picard(healthy scratch)**

**These two seem to be caught in Martin’s revolving door to the lineup, as such I will not speculate on who will be in the lineup.  My vote, however, is for Weber as his offensive upside will only grow with more playing time, and could be suitable tradebait down the road.**

New York

  • Alexandre Frolov
  • Vaclav Prospal
  • Derek Boogaard
  • Erik Christensen
  • Ryan Callahan

Keys to the Game

The virus that took out Mike Cammalleri continues to work it’s way around the dressing room.  Cammalleri is back, but Max Pacioretty is a game time decision and practice saw Tom Pyatt working on Gomez’ wing.  Don’t be surprised to see Eller and Desharnais get some shifts on this line, as I don’t see Pyatt being the offensive spark this line needs.

Price gets the start and looks to have a better outing then the last one vs. Pittsburgh

My Prediction

Montreal 3 – New York 1
