Gameday! Habs vs. Thrashers

Montreal Canadiens vs. Atlanta Thrashers

Can they keep it going?  The Habs came out firing on Friday, putting up  staggering 48 shots on goal.  Were it not for some fine goaltending by Tomas Vokoun, it would have been a blowout.

Today they face a much improved Thrashers club, who lost the franchise Ilya Kovalchuk, but gained Dustin Byfuglien, who has surprised the hockey world by having what is sure to be a career season.  With 15 goals and 40 points in 41 games played, Dustin has silenced the critics and is showing that he is a player a team can be built around.

Who’s out?

Montreal

  • Andrei Markov (Torn ACL-out indefinitely)
  • Josh Gorges (Injured Reserve)
  • Alex Picard (healthy scratch)

Atlanta

  • Nik Antropov
  • Zach Bogosian
  • Andrew Kozek

Keys to the Game

SHOOT THE PUCK AND HIT THE NET!  I have spent many a night in the last while yelling at my television while Habs snipers fire the puck high and wide.  GET IT ON THE NET!  Point made?

After a few nights rest, look for Carey Price to come back strong.  His numbers have slipped in the last few games so look for him to be much better.

My Prediction

Montreal 3 – Atlanta 2
